I really, really want to write a poetic, artistic, amusing post but , with only one week before Christmas and, trying to be a good Grenadian wife, I have cobwebbing to do, walls to wipe, closets to clear, chair set covers to wash, paint and varnish to buy, and , of course, new curtains to sew and hang.
How I know what that's like. I cheated and just posted links. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you are the domestic Goddess! I am impressed.
ReplyDeletePerhaps I should shovel out a path through my house before Christmas...
BTW, Is Blogger messing with your header, too? I have been going crazy with it.
ReplyDeleteDomestic Goddess, now that sounds wonderful, sort of floaty and sexy yet etheral, yes, thanks Jen, I think I can work with that.
ReplyDeleteI have the downstairs to do today.
I chuckle my way through the dust and the grime, laughing at myself and wondering, "how did this happen?" The transformation of self when having moved to the West Indies.
Header's back.
ReplyDeleteAndrea, I need the flamingo toilet seat. x

ReplyDeleteWow, being a good Grenadian wife sounds awfully demanding! Thanks heavens I have never had an ambition of being a good wife - as far as household chores are concerned. One advantage of being a busy professional is that you always get particularly BUSY when a major household maintenance project is called for and you just call in for help to do it, while you toil at your desk (blogging or writing Christmas greetings). Brain would be such an awful thing to wais on chores. Lol
ReplyDeleteNo one is more surprised than me Minerva, to find that I am actually enjoying this, I think because this is the first year that I am not working in a shop and am able to participate in the village traditions.
ReplyDeleteOh my, Zooms, I am SO with you on this one! I have been surgically attached to a hoover hose since late November. Yet, much as I anticipate it all with dread as I peruse my lists, once I get going I start to feel hideously smug ; ) By the way, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the link to my "Spirit Level" post. It was so nice of you and a really great boost after a day spent dusting, cleaning and maniacally rushing about. Hard to do with a hoover attachment hanging from one, don't ya know! Have fun with your village festivites : )
ReplyDeleteAs long as you are enjoying it - knock yourself out :-))
