I think most of the bamboo is indigenous but I don't think anyone 'plants' it as such. A lot of people see it as a weed and spend hours trying to burn and destroy, it always comes back. I like the scary sounds it makes and the way it sways in the breeze.
One thing I noticed in your beautiful pictures is all the bamboo. Was that planted and has now spread over the island?
